You’re Strong

Hello all and Happy Friday!

“You’re Strong”, a card that I created for this week’s CAS Colours and Sketches, color challenge #294 and also for my entry for their DT call. This week’s color challenge is Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, and Berry Burst. Those are the perfect colors for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

First, I started to mask off a square with masking tape onto a piece of Neenah Solar White Card stock (110 lbs). Next, I stamped the flower from Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Flowers 2 with VersaMark Ink onto the middle of the masked square and heat-embossed it with Hero Arts’ White Embossing Powder.  Then, I used the ink blending tools to blend the colors, Picked Raspberry, Spur Sugar and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks, onto the square. I wiped away the excess ink and the white embossing flower appeared bright white with the embossed resist technique. After I peeled off the masking tape, I used the coloring pencils to color the flower to darken it. Continue reading “You’re Strong”
